Declaration of the readiness of the United Nations to help the refugees of the Karabakh incident

On Monday, the United Nations officially announced during its speech that it is ready to provide assistance to the Karabagh refugees who are going to Armenia.

According to “News Armenia” news report, “Stephane Dujarric”, the spokesperson of the United Nations, said in a press conference: “The United Nations will help them if they reach the Karabagh refugees who are going to Armenia.”

According to these reports, Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh, which was out of Baku’s control since the collapse of the Soviet Union, now have to leave for Armenia a few days after the attack of the Azerbaijani army. Of course, it should be noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan has claimed that it guarantees the rights of the Armenians of Karabakh and merges this region with the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the press conference, Dujarric said: “We are closely following the mass movement of people to Armenia with great concern. If the UN is allowed access, we are ready to provide humanitarian aid and help the affected people. Our representatives are present in Azerbaijan and Armenia. “They are ready for any relief effort if the opportunity arises.”

As of Monday, more than 6,500 people left Nagorno-Karabakh for Armenia. “David Babayan”, the adviser of “Samuel Shahramanian”, the leader of the Armenians of Karabakh, said that 120 thousand Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh origin are planning to leave this region because they do not want to be a part of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Babayan said in this regard: “Our people do not want to live as a part of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 99.9 percent prefer to leave our historical lands.”

In the past few days, the Foreign Minister of Armenia announced at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council about the situation in Karabakh, that more than 200 people were killed and more than 10,000 people were displaced as a result of the operation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Karabakh.
